Most ethical conversations remain focused on familiar ground: diagnostic accuracy, bias, and privacy. These questions matter, but they overlook emerging challenges that will soon redefine the physician–patient relationship.
This presentation explores five new ethical frontiers of AI in medicine.
Participants will be able to:

- Discuss how these concepts challenge healthcare leaders to evaluate AI not just as a clinical tool but to consider its effects on human dignity
Dr. Beyda is a pediatric critical care specialist at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, having served as Division Chief of Critical Care Medicine for over 35 years, now retired. He is Chair and Professor of the Department of Bioethics, and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix where he directs the Ethics Theme and the Global Health programs. He was appointed as a Visiting Fellow and Scholar at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics and the Center for Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown University where he completed his training in medical ethics. In addition to being a nationally and internationally recognized author and guest lecturer, he also volunteers his expertise abroad by traveling to care for underprivileged children in third world countries.
He has also been the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Annual Scientific Award, the J. Kipp Charlton Humanitarian Award for Community Service and other national and local Humanitarian Awards.
